۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 We had no authority over you, in fact, you were a rebellious people. 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 That is how We deal with sinners. 34 They were the ones, who on being told, "God is only One," become puffed-up with pride 35 and replied, "Shall we then give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 (They will live) in the bountiful gardens, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Free from headiness; nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” – 51 Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe 52 After we are dead and have become all dust and bones shall we still be requited?' 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 But for the Favor of Allah I should have surely been among those who were arraigned (with you in Hell). 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Except our previous death? And we shall not be chastised? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 and they run in their footsteps. 70 And indeed most of the men of old went astray before them; 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Except the sincere (and devoted) Servants of Allah. 74
