S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Suad, I swear by the Quran, full of admonition. 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many ancient generations did We destroy? (On facing Our torment) they cried out for help, but it was too late for them to escape. 3 And they were surprised that a Herald of Warning came to them from among themselves; and the disbelievers said, “He is a magician, a great liar!” 4 “Has he made all the Gods into One God? This is really something very strange!” 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 "We never heard (the like) of this among the people of these latter days: this is nothing but a made-up tale!" 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Have they control over heavens and earth and whatever [lies] between them? Then let them climb up to heaven by ropes: 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 The people of Nuh and Ad, and Firon, the lord of spikes, rejected (apostles) before them. 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 There was none of them but called the apostles liars, so just was My retribution. 14
