Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have any knowledge of the world beyond the ken of sense-perception, and therefore, clearly sees (the Truth)? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
