The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the mount 1 and a Book inscribed 2 In parchment spread open 3 by the Visited House, 4 The roof raised high, 5 And the swollen sea 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 Then woe that day unto the deniers 11 Those who are playing in pursuits. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or is it that you do not see? 15 Endure the heat thereof, and whether ye are patient of it or impatient of it is all one for you. Ye are only being paid for what ye used to do. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for your good deeds," 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall provide them with fruit and meat, such as they desire. 22 They will exchange cups of wine free of (incitement to) pleasantry or sin. 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 We had prayed to Him; He is Kind and All-merciful". 28
