Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 and the rain-spreading winds, 3 and the severally severing 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 So shall We make the later ones to follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 “Move towards what you used to deny!” 29 Depart to a triple-massing shadow 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be the Day on which they will not (be able to) utter a word, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
