The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Go to Firon, surely he has become inordinate. 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
