He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man, [interrupting]. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for him who is not in want of any thing, 5 you attended to him, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he fears, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 On honourable pages. 13 exalted and purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 May (the disbelieving) human being be condemned! What makes him disbelieve? 17 From what did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will raise him up (again). 22 Yet man declines to do His bidding. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We broke open the earth, splitting [it with sprouts], 26 And We made corn grow, 27 And grapes and clover, 28 And olives and palms 29 thickly planted gardens, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And his wife and his children, 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 Some faces on that day will be radiant, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
