And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Surely he was of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And most surely Ibrahim followed his way. 83 When he came to his Lord with a pure heart, 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What is then your idea about the Lord of the worlds? 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire." 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 and blessed him and Isaac too: some of their offspring were good, but some clearly sinned against their souls. 113
