The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
