The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and hastily turned away, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
