The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Woe to the makers of the pit (of fire), 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 They had nothing against them, except that they believed in Allah, the All-Mighty, Worthy of all Praise! 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Verily, those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them will be Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise). That is the great success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Forgiving, and the Loving. 14 Owner of the throne, the Glorious 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
