Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends). 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 And his riches will not avail him when he falls headlong (into the Abyss). 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 and to Us belongs the Hereafter as well as the present world -- 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
