Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who hath gathered wealth (of this world) and arranged it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the crushing torment. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 which shall oversee the hearts, 7 covered down upon them, 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
