The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And lo! thy Lord, He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
