Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 And We bestowed upon him new offspring, doubling their number as an act of grace from Us, and as a reminder unto all who are endowed with insight. 43 We said to Him, "Take a handful of twigs in your hand and strike with that but do not break your oath." We found him steadfast. What an excellent servant! He turned constantly to his Lord. 44 And commemorate Our Servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, possessors of Power and Vision. 45 We gave them this pure distinction because of their continual remembrance of the Day of Judgment. 46 and in Our sight they are of the chosen, the excellent. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 LET [all] this be a reminder [to those who believe in God] - for, verily, the most beauteous of all goals awaits the God-conscious: 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Reclining on pillows, in it they ask for fruits and drinks in plenty. 51 ۞ And with them are those of modest gaze, companions. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 Our provision for you will never be exhausted. 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell; they shall enter it, so evil is the resting-place. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 And other similar torments. 58 This is a troop entering with you (in Hell), no welcome for them! Verily, they shall burn in the Fire! 59 (The followers of the misleaders will say): "Nay, you (too)! No welcome for you! It is you (misleaders) who brought this upon us (because you misled us in the world), so evil is this place to stay in!" 60 They say, “Our Lord! Whoever has brought this calamity upon us – double the punishment of the fire for him!” 61 They will say to one another: “But why do we not see those whom we considered him among the wicked? 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
