The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the Mountain, 1 And the Book written 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 by the Visited House, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Verily, the Torment of your Lord will surely come to pass, 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 such as play at plunging, 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this, then, any feat of magic or are you unable to see? 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all their Lord has given them, and their Lord will guard them against the punishment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 Reclining on thrones set in lines, and We will unite them to large-eyed beautiful ones. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire. 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
