Nay, by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 A warning unto humankind 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 "But we used to talk vanities with vain talkers; 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Then whoever wills will remember it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
