The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the breath of morning 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
