Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Wherein you shall not hear vain talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And the heaven how it has been raised? 18 And at the mountains - how they are erected? 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not charged to oversee them. 22 But if any turn away and reject Allah,- 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
