▼ 52 The Mountain

Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or do they have your Lord's treasures in their keeping? Or have absolute authority over them? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Or is the hidden with them, by which they pass judgements? 41 Do they want to hatch some plot? Those who deny the truth will be the victims of the plot. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
