The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 Then as for him who gives away and guards (against evil), 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 Unto him therefore We shall Indeed make easy the path to hardship. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
