The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
