۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 And say: Are our gods better, or is he? They raise not the objection save for argument. Nay! but they are a contentious folk. 58 He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a straight path. 61 And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Lo! Allah, He is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him. This is a right path. 64 But the sects from among themselves differed. So woe to those who do wrong (by ascribing things to 'Iesa (Jesus) that are not true) from the torment of a painful Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 The intimate friends on that Day will be hostile unto one another save the God-fearing. 67
