(Moses) said: My Lord! relieve my mind 25 And ease my task for me; 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 and appoint for me a helper from among my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 And associate him in my affair. 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 and remember Thee abundantly. 34 “Indeed You see us.” 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 "When your sister went and said: 'Shall I show you one who will nurse him?' So We restored you to your mother, that she might cool her eyes and she should not grieve. Then you did kill a man, but We saved you from great distress and tried you with a heavy trial. Then you stayed a number of years with the people of Madyan (Midian). Then you came here according to the fixed term which I ordained (for you), O Musa (Moses)! 40 I have chosen thee for My service; 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 He replied: 'Have no fear I shall be with you, both hearing and seeing. 46 So go ye unto him and say: Lo! we are two messengers of thy Lord. So let the children of Israel go with us, and torment them not. We bring thee a token from thy Lord. And peace will be for him who followeth right guidance. 47 Verily we! it hath been revealed unto us that the torment will be for him who belieth and turneth away. 48 (Firon) said: And who is your Lord, O Musa? 49 He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 It is He who made the earth a bed for you, and traced for you paths upon it, and sends down water from the sky, and brings out through it every kind of vegetation 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
