The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: if thou desistest not, O Lut! thou shalt surely be of those driven forth. 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
