The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe in him. 38 He said: "O my Lord! Help me because they deny me." 39 Said Allah, “They will soon wake up at morn, regretting.” 40 And then the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them, justly and unavoidably, and We caused them to become as the flotsam of dead leaves and the scum borne on the surface of a torrent: and so - away with those evildoing folk! 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe. 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing water. 50
