Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We would hasten them on in every good? Nay, they do not understand. 56 Surely those who live in awe of their Lord, 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Yet their hearts are oblivious of this; and besides, they are busy with other things, 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say, 'He is bedevilled'? Nay, he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse from the truth. 70 And should the truth follow their low desires, surely the heavens and the earth and all those who are therein would have perished. Nay! We have brought to them their reminder, but from their reminder they turn aside. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
