Thamud (people) belied the Messenger. 141 When their brother Salih (Saleh) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 So fear Allah, and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 145 (Do you think) you will be left secure here 146 "Gardens and Springs, 147 "And corn-fields and date-palms with spathes near breaking (with the weight of fruit)? 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 Therefor keep your duty to Allah and obey me, 150 “And do not follow those who exceed the limits.” 151 and spread mischief in the land rather than set things right." 152 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched! 153 You are but a human like ourselves. Produce for us a sign, if you are of the truthful' 154 He said, "This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day. 155 "And touch her not with harm, lest the torment of a Great Day seize you." 156 But they killed her, and then they became regretful. 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 159
