And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 how the sun moves in its orbit and this is the decree of the Majestic and All-knowing God; 38 And the Moon,- We have measured for her mansions (to traverse) till she returns like the old (and withered) lower part of a date-stalk. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 and then created for them other vessels like those on which they ride. 42 and [that,] if such be Our will, We may cause them to drown, with none to respond to their cry for help: and [then] they cannot be saved, 43 Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
