Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they, then, better than the people of Tubba and those before them, whom We destroyed because they were truly lost in [the same] sin? 37 And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play. 38 We created them not except for just ends: but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the Day of Decision shall be their appointed time, all together, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
