And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 Even then they say: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
