Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
