The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 They have cried lies, and followed their caprices; but every matter is settled. 3 Surely there came to them narratives (of the ancient nations) that should suffice to deter (them from transgression), 4 Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. 5 Therefore, turn away from them. On the Day when the Caller summons them to a terrible thing, 6 they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. 7 Hastening toward the summoner; the disbelievers say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!", and he was driven out. 9 Thereupon he prayed unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me. 10 So We opened the gates of heaven with water pouring forth. 11 And We opened up the springs of the earth; and the waters met for a decreed end. 12 And We bore Noah on the vessel built of planks and nails, 13 Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 16 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 17 The people of `Ad rejected Our guidance. How terrible was My torment and the result (of their disregard) of My warning. 18 Surely We sent on them a tornado in a day of bitter ill-luck 19 It swept people away as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees. 20 How [dreadful] was My punishment and My warning! 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
