No, by the moon! 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 "Nor were we of those who fed the indigent; 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 Till death overtook us. 47 Then will no intercession of (any) intercessors profit them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
