Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
