The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the drawers (the angels of death), gently drawing (the souls of the believers), 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But verily, it will be but a single (Compelling) Cry, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 and gathered his people together 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
