Al-Burooj
The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven adorned with big stars. 1 By the promised Day (of Judgment); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 Cursed were the people of the ditch (the story of the Boy and the King). 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 They had naught against them save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Owner of Praise, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Verily He! He it is who beginneth and repeateth it. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer of whatsoever He intendeth. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Pharaoh and Thamood? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
True are the words of God the Almighty.
