The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of thy Guardian-Lord Most High, 1 Who createth, then disposeth; 2 and who determines the nature [of all that exists,] and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment,] 3 who brings forth the pastures, 4 Then turneth it to russet stubble. 5 By degrees shall We teach thee to declare (the Message), so thou shalt not forget, 6 Unless God may please. He knows the visible and knows what is hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 who will roast in the Great Fire, 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 To happiness [in the life to come] will indeed attain he who attains to purity [in this world,] 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But rather you prefer the life of this world! 16 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. 17 Most surely this is in the earlier scriptures, 18 The scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
