Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 and raised couches, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Have they not looked at how the camel is created, 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 In which case he will be punished by God with the severest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning. 26
