Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 And the producers of sparks [when] striking 2 as they gallop to make raids at dawn, 3 And therein raising dust. 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 Verily man is unto his Lord ungrateful. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And is intractable in his love of worldly goods. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And the secrets of the breasts are made known, 10 Surely on that Day will their Lord be fully informed about them. 11
