Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 He ran away to the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or created We the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will ye not then reflect? 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Glorified be Allah from that which they attribute (unto Him), 159 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 Surely we would have been the bondmen of God sincere. 169 They have rejected the Quran. They will soon know the consequences (of their disbelief). 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Our torment seek they to hasten on! 176 When it descends on their courtyards, how terrible that morning will be for those who were warned! 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
