The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 And the breath of morning 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
