The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise be to God who has sent down to His servant -- the Book, which is free from any ambiguity 1 Immutable, so that it may warn of a severe punishment from Him; and give happy tidings to those who believe and do the right that there is a better reward (of Paradise) for them, 2 Staying in it for ever; 3 and to warn those who say, 'God has taken to Himself a son'; 4 No knowledge whatever have they of Him, and neither had their forefathers: dreadful - is this saying that comes out of their mouths, [and] nothing but falsehood do they utter! 5 Perhaps, you, would kill yourself (O Muhammad SAW) in grief, over their footsteps (for their turning away from you), because they believe not in this narration (the Quran). 6 We have adorned the earth with attractive things, so that We may test mankind as to which one is best in conduct, 7 And verily! We shall make all that is on it (the earth) a bare dry soil (without any vegetation or trees, etc.). 8 Do you think that the people of the Cave and the Inscription were one of Our wondrous signs? 9 (Remember) when the young men fled for refuge (from their disbelieving folk) to the Cave, they said: "Our Lord! Bestow on us mercy from Yourself, and facilitate for us our affair in the right way!" 10 Then We caused them to fall into a deep sleep for many years inside the cave. 11 Afterwards. We raised them up again, that We might know which of the two parties would better calculate the while they had tarried. 12
