We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 save those to whom God shows mercy. Surely, He is the Mighty, the Merciful One. 42
