The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 abasing, exalting, 3 When the earth is shaken with a shaking [severe,] 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 like hidden pearls, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And couches raised up. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
