Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in Whose hand is the kingdom, and He has power over all things, 1 Who created death and life that He may try you-- which of you is best in deeds; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created seven heavens one upon another. Thou seest not in the creation of the All-merciful any imperfection. Return thy gaze; seest thou any fissure? 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And indeed We have beautified the lower heaven with lamps, and have made them weapons against the devils, and have kept prepared for them the punishment of the blazing fire. 5 for, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: and how vile a journey's end! 6 When they are cast into it, they will hear it roar and raging 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say: “Yes, a warner came to us, but we gave the lie to him and said: 'Allah has revealed nothing. You are surely in huge error.' 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 So now they admit their sins! Therefore accursed be the people of hell! 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 How could He who created not know His own creation, when He alone is the Most Subtle in His wisdom and the All Aware? 14
