Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 a warning to humans, 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 about the guilty ones: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 like frightened donkeys 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
