The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not think they will be raised to life again 4 on a fateful Day. 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 No one denies it except for the evil aggressor. 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 Which is witnessed by the close ones. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 resting on couches, looking around. 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 Their thirst will be slaked with Pure Wine sealed: 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 and when they saw them they said, 'Lo, these men are astray!' 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 "Are these deniers of the truth being [thus] requited for [aught but] what they were wont to do?" 36
