Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
