The Night (Al-Layl)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Night as it conceals (the light); 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 you strive in various ways. 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will pave his way to ease. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High. 20 and he shall surely be satisfied. 21
